What is Relay.app?
Relay.app was a web-based workflow automation tool, founded by Jacob Bank, that competed with Zapier and Make. Users described an automation to a chat-first AI builder or assembled it in a visual editor from triggers, steps, conditional paths, loops and waits; reusable Sequences, built-in Tables and custom MCP servers that exposed workflows as tools to apps like ChatGPT or Claude rounded out the product. Its distinguishing idea was human-in-the-loop steps: a workflow could pause for a teammate to approve, enter data or review AI output before it continued. In its final months, the Free plan included 200 steps and 500 AI credits a month, Professional cost $19/month and Team $59/month (10 users) on annual billing, and Enterprise was custom. The wind-down began on July 16, 2026; the service ended on September 14, 2026, and all customer data was then deleted.
